Nov. 3- 7

This weeks Bible lesson is about Isreal and Moses.
Monday -- The people of Isreal were God's people and they needed help.
Tuesday -- We learn about Baby Moses. His mom made a basket like a little boat and put him into the water. She wanted to protect him because the king wanted to hurt him. God will watch over baby Moses. Baby Moses will grow up to be God's helper
Wednesday -- The king's daughter finds baby moses in the little boat basket. She takes him him to take care of him.
Thursday -- Now baby Moses is a big man! God appears to Moses through the burning bush. Moses hides his face because he is afraid to look at God. God is calling him to help his people (the people of Isreal).
Friday -- Moses, along with his brother, Aaron, go to talk to the king. They tell the king that God wants him to leave the people alone and stop hurting them. The king laughs and tells them to go away. Moses warns him that God will hurt him if he doesn't stop. God will turn all of the water into blood, even the water on the tables for lunch. God wants him to stop hurting his people.

Devotional:
G is for God. He's your Father above. He made you and likes you and shows you his love.

Bible Verse:
The Lord God made the earth and the heavens. Genesis 2:4

We have also been playing in our new finger plays book. I showed them the classic:

Here is the Church

Here is the church
And here is the steeple.
We open the door
But where are the people?
Ring the bell!
Ring the bell!
That's how everyone can tell
Its time for church today!

Now here is the church,
And here is the steeple.
We open the door
And see all the people!

(They are good about not having people in their church. We are working on the people. Of course growing up we only used the last verse. So, that is the one we do the most.)

We have started on Thanksgiving. We began with things that we are thankful for. We touched on the Pilgrims and the Indians but we will get into that a little more over the next few weeks.

Here are a couple of more finger plays that we will be working on to go with our lessons.

Thanksgiving

I'm glad its Thanksgiving Day!
I fold my hands and softly pray,
"Thank you, God, for my family
And all the things they do for me.
Thank You for the things You've done.
Thank You most for Your dear Son."

Turkey

My turkey is a great big bird
Who walks with a funny wobble.
He spreads his tail and bobs his head,
says, "Gobble, gobble, gobble!"

They have really had fun learning these new fingerplays. They aren't necessarily something that we are completely focusing on, just using them with what we are talking about. Now you can have fun with them at home as well.
